The star overcame a strong team, taking out George Killington, Callum Goffin, Connor Scutt, Josh Rock, Dave Chisnall and Luke Woodhouse to reach the final. In a tough encounter, Humphries edged out Stephen Bunting with an 8-7 victory to secure the title, also cementing his position at the top of the PDC Order of Merit.
Currently at the top of the winners’ charts, Humphries can boast of having earned £1,681,750 over the past two years, comfortably ahead of second place Michael Smith on £1,069,250. After the match, Humphries revealed that taking part in the tournament had not been part of his original plan due to a string of disappointing results recently.
